IC Information
Name: Art
Canon: Hamatora
Gender: Male
Age: 22
History: Art on the Hamatora wiki and Hamatora on Wikipedia. Let me know if you need any more information from the canon.
Personality: Initially, Art seems like the sort of person who really has his act together. He seems serious and very in control of himself and interested in making sure that business gets done properly and on time. None of these things are particularly inaccurate. He is very job-oriented and his work is one of the most important parts of his life. But despite the fact that he can seem very much like a by-the-book sort of person, he is actually extremely passionate about everything he does, as evidenced by the way he acts when he separates from the police department to pursue his own goals.

Despite his calm exterior, Art is actually very prone to a lot of emotions and can even emote quite a lot when around someone that he considers a friend and that he feels he can let his guard down around. The way he acts with Nice is a very good indicator of the way that he can be, his true self as it were. When he is forced to break his calm facade, though, he is prone to violent outbursts of his emotion. For example, when Moral continued to pick at him until he finally snapped, Art nearly strangled the man for behaving the way he was.

Underneath that pretty face lies a lot of self-doubt and uncertainty. While Art will fight whole-heartedly for whatever he believes in, he very much does not believe in himself. At all. Even though he went through hell and back to be able to go through Facultas and graduate despite never actually developing his Minimum ability, he does not think that he is any good, especially compared to all of his friends who have Minimums and were able to excel at Facultas without much hard work. Despite that, Art always pushes himself to do better than his best, which is a large part of why he has been able to do so well for himself despite his obvious shortcomings.

Another important facet of Art's personality is the fact that he is just so damn charismatic. He has the ability to put his passionate feelings into words and use those words to all but manipulate people into agreeing with his ideas. It is not that he is trying to manipulate them, but more that he is so focused on his own ideals that he is able to make their importance convincing for others. He is, in fact, a bit of an actor in this regard, putting on a strong facade in order to make people think that he is fully in control of his own thoughts and emotions.

After all of the events of season 2, where he tried desperately to get rid of Minimums for good and kill his best friend, Art was arrested and spent 6 months in prison. During this time, he was able to come to terms with himself and realize a lot more about who he is and what he is actually capable of. He still deals with a lot of guilt from having killed his brother, tried to kill his best friend, getting his partner killed, and causing all sorts of trouble for all of his other friends, but he realizes that he himself is not a bad person and that he should work hard to make the world a better place and redeem himself for what he has done.

{Regeneration Minimum} Taken from the wiki: "Regeneration Minimum, which activates when he receives a fatal injury to the heart. It seems to be able to bring him back to life, as well as regenerating lost limbs and curing injuries."
{Martial Arts} Art is an excellent martial artist and excels in hand to hand combat. He has been taught by a master who is a great deal stronger than him and can still occasionally defeat that master.
{Marksmanship} Being a member of the police force, Art has great marksmanship and is actually a very good shot.
{Critical Thinking} Again, because of his job, Art excels in critical thinking. He can assess a situation and come up with all possible solutions very easily.
{Problem Solving} In the same vein, Art can work out the solution to a problem without much hassle and is good at keeping the peace between people.
{Charisma} Art has an abnormally high charisma and is a very passionate person who can readily sway people to his own causes.

After having spent six months in prison, Art had been certain that there would be no way he would ever be able to work with the police force again. That thought in and of itself was enough to make him cringe. He had spent so much of his life dedicated to his police work and to realize that he had managed to destroy everything he had ever worked for by trying to fulfill his little brother's dying wish - to finally die and be free from a life of torment. It had been much too late that Art had realized that Skill's heart being inside of Nice was not tormenting to his brother's spirit. So late that he had ruined any chances he had once had of actually making the world a better place.

But somehow, through some miracle, someone on the force actually vouched for Art. And even though he could not be a detective ever again and would have to constantly be in the company of a higher ranking officer, he could still do grunt work to help the force and paperwork to bring everything together. It was like a dream come true for the man who had spent six months dreading what he would come back to. Not only was he able to make up completely with his friends, but he had partially gotten his job back too.

All Art wanted to do was atone for everything he had done and everything that he had caused to be done in his name. Being the messiah of the Minimum Holders had been a taxing endeavor for him and he had been sure that his problems would end when he jumped from the building the night he had tried to kill Nice, but his ridiculous best friend had brought him back to life, so all he could do was work hard to make up for everything.

Which was why he preferred to be out in the field whenever he could. He knew that Nice did not want him putting himself in any unnecessary danger, but Art felt like he was completely useless just sitting in an office. He was a police officer, and he would behave with the bravery of one, even if it killed him again.

Oddly enough, that was exactly what killed him this time.

It was supposed to be a routine patrol, but Art managed to spot a young hooligan running out of a convenience store with a sack full of cash and gave chase. His partner was right behind him and as the two of them rounded the corner, guns raised, they were met with a hail of bullets from every direction. It had been a trap for them, Art knew it immediately, but there was nothing he could do as the bullets streaked towards him. He could only hope that one of the bullets struck his heart so that he could regenerate.

But as the first bullet buried itself in his leg, Art crumpled to the ground. He raised his gun and fired twice, taking down one person with each bullet, but it wasn't enough. Because a second bullet lodged into his shoulder, knocking his gun from his hand, while a third found its home in his stomach. The pain was excruciating, but it was nothing new to Art. Gritting his teeth, he tried to stand up again, only to find a bullet coming right at his face.

In the millisecond before the bullet connected with his eye, delving deep into his brain, Art realized that he was about to die again. His mind immediately went to Nice, who would not be happy to know about the outcome of this evening. 'He's going to kill me,' was all Art could think in the split second before the bullet reached its destination...

...and he thought no more.

Somehow, through the storm of bullets, not a single one had found the mark that would save Art's life. Not one bullet buried itself in his chest. And so his Minimum was not triggered. Art was, truly, dead.

Mindset: Art is a very calm-minded individual, so it will be very difficult to rattle him, even in a situation like this. However, he will be very off-put by finding that he is dead. Again. And especially finding that his death seems a lot more permanent this time around. He is likely going to try everything he can to find a way to escape the afterlife.
G̶̶l̨͡i̵͢t̷c͝͠h̕é͠s̷̷͡: Easily the biggest thing you can use against Art is the fact that he killed his little brother when he was younger. Also, drawing from the events of season 2, Art has massive amounts of guilt built up from fighting and killing his best friend, Nice. He also feels guilt for betraying his partner, Gasuke, and for causing his death. Art also has a lot of nasty jealousy inside of him caused from the fact that he grew up without a Minimum like all of his friends. It's something he has mostly learned to live with and hates himself for feeling, especially since he worked so hard to get rid of Minimums in season 2.
